One day in early spring, an explorer walked into the club. The place buzzed with folks picking jobs. This explorer picked a fresh task. It called for checking out a weird labyrinth. The thing had popped up out of nowhere. 

Right at the edge of the dark woods. Club gigs like this one paid well. They asked for quick peeks inside. Rewards matched the short effort. Most came back with stories and coin.

The explorer hit the dusty trail fast. Dirt kicked up under boots. Sun beat down hard. Then jelly creatures showed up. These blobs wobbled like thick pudding. They blocked the path ahead. 

Soft bodies jiggled with each step. The explorer swung a blade with force. Strikes cut clean through. Gel flew everywhere. It splattered on the ground in shiny puddles. Some blobs burst open. They made tiny pops, like bubbles breaking. Clear bits oozed out. The explorer pushed on. Hope grew for an easy win.

But one key thing slipped their mind. They never glanced back. From the soil, plant shoots burst free. Thick stems coiled like ropes. They shot up quick and strong. Vines whipped out. They snagged arms first. Then legs. Torso next. Grips tightened like iron bands. 

The explorer lost footing. Body tilted sharp. Arms flailed wild. Fists hit nothing but empty air. No escape. Plants yanked hard. They pulled back toward the trees. Deeper into the thick woods. The pull stayed steady. No let up. It led straight to the labyrinth's mouth.

Dark walls loomed at the entry. Inside, the maze claimed its prize. The explorer turned into a test case. Plants locked them in place. Tight holds for full study. Eyes watched close. Every twitch noted. That sealed the deal. The explorer's capture ended the trip. No way out now.
